To our wonderful Valora community,
It’s been one whole year since Valora publicly launched. That’s one whole year dedicated to unlocking access to financial opportunity for people around the world.
I’m simultaneously proud and humbled looking back at how our passionate community has grown stronger every day. I’ve loved hearing your stories and learning how folks from all over the globe are experiencing Valora - from those using crypto for the very first time to the long-time enthusiasts already deep in the world of Web3.

The World Food Programme, Corsali, and Celo partnered to open up a new gig economy market in Kenya—empowering people to earn income through work that can be done on their mobile phones. Celo & Valora enabled these workers to earn their paychecks in crypto in real-time. Additionally, Valora's integration of Kotani meant they could convert their cUSD earnings into Kenyan Shillings in mPesa, allowing them to pay for everyday expenses with ease. Learn more here.
impactMarket uses Valora to facilitate the global distribution of aid via one of the world's largest private universal basic income (UBI) programs, lifting people out of extreme poverty. They've distributed $1.6 million across 28 countries to over 23,000 beneficiaries this year. Among them is the Nagbacalan Loom Weavers Cooperative in the Philippines, which used the funds to survive the economic downturn during the pandemic and build new sources of income for the future.
